2020 Event Updates
Member Banquet and Auction
Normally held in early spring, this event is indefinitely postponed. More than 100 members attend this fund raising social event each year. Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan restricts gatherings to 50 people or less. Unless the rules are changed, it is unlikely that this event will occur in 2020.
Kids' Fishing Day
This wonderful event is scheduled on the first Saturday in April each year to coincide with opening day of the spring trout season. We have tentative plans to hold this event on the first day of fall trout season this year. More to come later as plans are solidified.
Kankakee River Fishing Derby
Update (7-14-2020): Fishing Derby is a go! Thanks to biologist Seth Love and the IDNR Fisheries, IDNR shock boats will be here on September 2nd to facilitate tagging fish for the Derby. The Derby will begin on Friday, September 4th and end on Sunday, September 13th. Details to come
River Cleanup Day
This event is scheduled for September 19 and we currently see no reason to make any changes. Please make plans to join us as nearly 400 volunteers disperse along the banks of the Kankakee River removing 20 to 30 tons of trash every year. More updates to come as they are available. For additional questions, please contact Ken Munjoy at NIAA1979@comcast.net or at 815-508-1335.
Thank you.
